Lipedema Canada is on a mission to revolutionize the landscape of lipedema care in our country, and we need skilled, passionate individuals like you to join us in making a profound impact. As we build our organization from the ground up, we are seeking dedicated individuals to fill crucial roles on our board. Together, we will shape policies, drive advocacy efforts, and empower those affected by lipedema.

Why Lipedema Canada?

Lipedema is a condition that affects upwards of 11% of individuals assigned female at birth across our nation, yet it often goes unrecognized and untreated. At Lipedema Canada, we are committed to changing this reality. By raising awareness, providing support to those in need, and advocating for improved healthcare policies and for lipedema treatment to be covered as insured services.

Board Governance and Recruitment

Our board of directors plays a pivotal role in guiding our organization’s strategic direction, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and accountability. We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

Eligibility criteria:

A director must meet all of the following qualifications (refer to subsection 126(1) of the NFP Act):

  • be at least 18 years old
  • not have been declared incapable under the laws of a Canadian province or territory, or by a court in a jurisdiction outside Canada
  • be an individual (that is, a corporation cannot be a director)
  • not be in bankrupt status.
