We help transform the lives of people facing the condition by fostering a sense of community, increasing awareness among medical professionals, and advocating for government acknowledgment and support.

From Whispers to a Roar
Our Story
Lipedema Canada was born from the undeniable injustice facing thousands of Canadians living with a condition the system failed to acknowledge. In 2021, a group of women began sharing information, tears, and strategies to navigate a landscape devoid of support. As they fought to access treatment and coverage, those whispers turned into a roar. Founded officially in 2023, our organization is driven by a singular conviction: no one should have to suffer in pain or sacrifice their financial security to manage their health. We know the task of changing a national healthcare perspective is monumental, but through persistence and the support of our incredible partners, we take a step closer every day. “Open minds change lives”—and we are here to change both.
